Case #479,190 - Joshua Sude
Joshua Sude was in the tenth grade when he received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) claiming that he owed hundreds of dollars in income taxes. As it turns out, his Social Security Number was used to obtain four different jobs in three cities under two different names. Joshua’s mother finally contacted the IRS to determine how it was possible for Joshua to be working at a fish company and two fast food restaurant chains all before his twelfth birthday. It took her quite a while to clear up the matter, as she waited endlessly in a line full of people with similar identity theft issues.*
